# CLT Tokenomics

<Warning>
  This page is a Draft. Its content may change before final publication.
</Warning>

CLT is CoinLotto's fixed-supply token for rewards and Super Lottery participation. Players earn existing CLT through protocol activity and use it to enter Super Lotteries. Most of that CLT returns to support future rewards instead of relying on new token issuance.

## CLT maximum supply

The maximum global supply is **1,000,000,000 CLT**. The full supply is created once on Ethereum and sent to the CLT Reserve. No CLT is allocated to the CoinLotto team or investors at mint, and the global supply cannot increase.

CoinLotto does not sell CLT at launch. Players can earn it through Protocol Lottery ticket rewards, Missions, and referral rewards.

## CLT Reserve

The CLT Reserve holds tokens before they are distributed to Reward Pools. At launch, it funds a CLT Reward Pool on each of the four supported networks with **1,000,000 CLT**. This places **4,000,000 CLT** in Reward Pools; the remaining **996,000,000 CLT** stays in the Reserve. The Reserve also funds CLT Reward Pools when CoinLotto adds support for new networks.

Reserve transfers are protected by a **3-day timelock** and a **2-of-2 Safe multisig**. CoinLotto announces each transfer's amount, destination, and purpose in Discord and on the website's tokenomics page. Anyone can track the movement on-chain.

## CLT Reward Pools

Each supported network has a CLT Reward Pool. These pools provide CLT for CLT Reward per Ticket, Mission Rewards, and CLT referral rewards. They receive CLT from the Reserve and from Super Lottery entries.

Rewards are earned and claimed under the rules of each program. See [Earn CLT](/clt-ecosystem/earn-clt) for those rules; this page explains how CLT moves through the protocol.

## CLT Protocol Fee

CLT is the only token accepted for Super Lottery entry. While the Treasury is below its cap, a **5% CLT Protocol Fee** is deducted from each entry and routed to the Treasury.

CLT used for entry does not become part of the Super Lottery Prize Pool. That Prize Pool is funded separately by allocations from linked Protocol Lotteries.

## CLT Treasury

The Treasury holds the protocol's share of CLT from Super Lottery entries. It is not funded from the initial mint or from a team allocation.

CoinLotto receives CLT through this route only when players use CLT for its intended purpose: entering a Super Lottery. Earning, holding, or claiming CLT does not generate this CLT Protocol Fee.

## Treasury cap

On each network, the Treasury is capped at **1% of the CLT supply on that network**. Before the cap is reached, **5%** of CLT used to enter a Super Lottery goes to the Treasury, and **95%** returns to the CLT Reward Pool. At the cap, the Treasury receives no CLT from new entries, and **100%** returns to the Reward Pool.

The cap prevents the Treasury balance from growing without limit. The CLT cycle is designed to keep operating under on-chain rules without an unlimited flow of CLT to CoinLotto or day-to-day team administration.

## The circular CLT flow

1. The Reserve funds Reward Pools from the fixed supply.
2. Players earn CLT through Protocol Lottery tickets, Missions, and referrals.
3. Players use CLT to enter Super Lotteries.
4. CLT from those entries returns to Reward Pools, with a limited share going to the Treasury while it is below its cap.

The same CLT can be earned, used, and returned to support later rewards. Super Lottery entry does not require the protocol to mint new CLT.

## CLT across networks

CLT operates on BNB Chain, Base, Polygon, and Ethereum. When CLT is bridged through LayerZero, it is burned on the source network and the same amount is minted on the destination network. Bridging moves existing CLT without increasing the fixed global supply.

## Verification

The CLT supply, Reserve, Reward Pools, Treasury balances, and token transfers can be checked on-chain. Official CLT contract addresses and explorer links are maintained on the [CLT Token](/clt-ecosystem/clt-token#official-clt-contract-addresses) page.
