# Referral Program

The Referral Program turns a referral into a **lifetime on-chain relationship**.

No manual administration, approval, review, or waiting period is involved. Once a referral is permanently bound to a network, smart contracts handle reward calculation, availability, and claims under the protocol’s rules.

A Referrer shares a personal referral link to invite others to CoinLotto.

## Referral rewards

### Revenue Share

The Referrer earns **50% of the protocol fee** generated by ticket purchases made by referred users in Protocol Lotteries and User-Created Lotteries.

See [Fees](/lottery-mechanics/fees) for the current Protocol Fee.

Revenue Share does not apply to Super Lotteries. It becomes claimable immediately after the relevant ticket purchase.

### Welcome Bonus

The Welcome Bonus is a one-time **10 CLT** reward for the referrer.

It becomes claimable when a referred user purchases their first ticket in a Protocol Lottery.

### CLT Referral Bonus

The CLT Referral Bonus is a referral reward for the Referrer.

When a referred user purchases a ticket in a Protocol Lottery, the Referrer earns **5% of that lottery’s CLT Reward per Ticket**. The bonus is not a fixed CLT amount.

The bonus becomes claimable immediately after the referred user purchases the ticket.

## Claiming referral rewards

Referral rewards become claimable immediately after the ticket purchase that generates them. There is no pending period, approval period, or manual review: smart contract logic determines when a reward becomes available.

The Referral Dashboard lets Referrers access their personal link, view referral activity and available rewards, and choose when to claim and which reward token to claim. Unclaimed referral rewards do not expire.

Claiming requires an on-chain transaction and payment of the network gas fee. See [Claiming Rewards](/lottery-mechanics/claiming-rewards) for the shared claim process.

## How referral links work

### Attribution window

Opening a referral link in a browser starts a **30-day attribution window**. CoinLotto uses **last-touch attribution**: if a user opens more than one referral link during this period, the most recently opened link receives attribution.

### Referral binding

Before a ticket purchase, referral attribution is stored in the user's browser. When the user purchases their first ticket in any lottery type within the attribution window, the referral is permanently bound on-chain for the specific network where the purchase occurs. Once bound, it cannot be changed or reassigned.

Referral binding is performed independently on each supported network.

Referral relationships are permanent once bound. “Lifetime” referral language refers to this permanent binding.

### Gift purchases

When a ticket is bought as a gift, referral attribution follows the purchasing wallet, not the recipient. If the purchase creates a new Referral Binding, it is created for the purchaser. Any referral rewards generated by the purchase are credited under the purchaser’s Referral Binding.

The recipient becomes the ticket owner, but receiving the gift does not create or change a Referral Binding for that wallet. See [Buying Tickets](/lottery-mechanics/buying-tickets) for ticket ownership and reward rules.
