This page explains fees and allocations that apply when tickets are purchased in CoinLotto lotteries. CoinLotto applies a 5% Protocol Fee to Protocol Lottery and User-Created Lottery ticket sales. A 5% CLT Protocol Fee applies to CLT used to enter a Super Lottery. For Protocol Lotteries and User-Created Lotteries, fees and allocations are deducted from ticket sales before the remaining amount enters the Prize Pool. The applicable structure depends on the lottery type.

Fee Overview

Protocol Fee

Protocol fees apply to ticket purchases in all CoinLotto lottery types. In Protocol Lotteries and User-Created Lotteries, the 5% Protocol Fee is deducted from ticket sales before the remaining amount is added to the Prize Pool. In a Super Lottery, a 5% CLT Protocol Fee applies to CLT used to enter the lottery. For Protocol Lotteries and User-Created Lotteries, Referral Revenue Share is calculated from the Protocol Fee. It does not apply to Super Lotteries.

Super Lottery Allocation

Each Protocol Lottery directs 10% of its ticket sales to one linked Super Lottery. This allocation funds the linked Super Lottery’s Prize Pool; it is not taken from the Protocol Lottery’s Prize Pool. No Super Lottery Allocation applies to User-Created or Super Lotteries.

Creator Fee

A Creator Fee applies only to a User-Created Lottery. The CoinLotto protocol allows Creators to set it when creating the lottery, from 0% to 30% of ticket sales. It is deducted from ticket sales before the remaining amount enters the Prize Pool. CoinLotto expects to reduce this maximum significantly in future protocol configurations. Any future reduction applies only to newly created User-Created Lotteries; existing lotteries retain the fixed configuration set when they were created. The Creator may claim the Creator Fee immediately after the draw is finalized. Claims are manual, on-chain, and do not expire.

Prize Pool Top-Ups

Prize Pool Top-Ups are not ticket sales. The full top-up amount goes directly to the target Prize Pool, with no Protocol Fee, Creator Fee, or Super Lottery Allocation.
