Overview

A lottery draw finalizes a lottery and selects winning ticket numbers from those assigned at purchase. The lottery’s configured Prize Distribution model determines how the final Prize Pool is allocated among the winning tickets.

When a draw is available

A draw becomes available when at least one ticket has been sold and either of the following conditions is met:
  • The lottery’s scheduled draw time has passed.
  • The lottery’s ticket limit has been reached (if set).

Starting a draw

Any wallet can initiate a User-Created Lottery draw once it is available. For Protocol Lotteries and Super Lotteries, CoinLotto monitors draw availability and ensures that draws are initiated automatically when their conditions are met. Initiating a draw is an on-chain transaction. Its cost consists of the transaction’s network gas fee and the applicable Chainlink VRF fee.

Randomness and restarting a draw

CoinLotto uses Chainlink VRF 2.5 to select winning ticket numbers at random. If a Chainlink VRF response has not been received, the draw can be restarted after 15 minutes. See Verifiable Randomness for the full Chainlink VRF flow and independent draw verification.

Finalization

Once a draw completes successfully, its result is final and cannot be reversed. The resulting draw activity and on-chain state can be independently verified. After draw finalization:
  • The entire final Prize Pool is allocated under the lottery’s configured Prize Distribution model.
  • Winning prizes become claimable immediately by winning ticket owners.
  • Creator Fees become claimable immediately by the Creator.
Claims are manual and executed on-chain by the wallet entitled to them.
